INTERPOL is the world’s largest international police organization which aims to facilitate international/ cross-border police co-operation, whose mission is to prevent or combat international crime. This new Global Complex will represent INTERPOL’s drive and efforts to stay ahead of the challenges of a new generation of policing.  It will be the only one of its kind and will serve as an overseas base, which that will complement and support INTERPOL General Secretariat in France.

The proposed building form is like two hands engaged in a symbolic clasp of unity and mutual support; the design for this Interpol Global Complex (IGC) represents the collaborative relationship of INTERPOL and Singapore.  It marks the beginning of a new and exciting chapter in Singapore’s involvement in and partnership with INTERPOL. It will lay the foundation for a stronger international policing community, ready to take on the policing challenges of tomorrow’s world.

This landmark shall provide both INTERPOL and MHA/SPF with embassy-level security and privacy, while also providing an open and welcoming environment on the ground level, allowing controlled access into the public gallery. This visual connection and encouraged physical interaction challenges the traditional intimidating notion of institution of law-enforcements.

The building will be an icon, taking upon a dignified and understated character in line with its official function.  The building shall seek a holistic fusion of urbanism with site, of building and landscape to create a timeless, welcoming, and secure and energy efficient architecture.
