The upgrading of Queenstown Primary School involves the construction of a new 5-storey Indoor Sports Hall (ISH) Block, as well as a new 4-storey Classroom Block Extension to the existing Classroom Block. The ISH Block also houses other ancillary facilities for after-school activities and after-school care. A tall volume space is created beneath the ISH for the sheltered outdoor fitness playground. While accommodating this new block within the tight footprint of existing play court area, an additional basketball court is provided at the rooftop of the block.

Driven by the school’s aspirations to provide interactive and environmentally conscious outdoor learning spaces, the Science Experiential Learning Area is created in one of the courtyards, with the Bio-filtration Pond at the central spine, lined with intimately scaled reading pavilions for passive learning and self-study by the students. In another courtyard, an amphitheatre is created to provide students the opportunity to speak, perform and to be active.
